Forward Thrust Double Plate System (Schaneng)

The flexible System

The flexible forward thrust double plate system differs from conventional systems in the flexibility of the intermaxillary guide elements. This creates a more gentle application of force on the temporomandibular joint. Forward thrust double plates also have the advantage that apart from shifting occlusion it is also possible to move individual teeth with the aid of springs.

Other advantages include:

  • Guide ridge is round and smooth, causing no risk of injury to the patient
  • Guide ridge is flexible and interconnected, therefore, less likely to brake
  • Location template ensures that the guide ridge slides properly on the lingual plate at an angle of 60°
